Sam Cole

Sam Cole was a character in Neighbours who appeared in 34 episodes, first appearing in Episode 309 - 31 July 1986 and last appeared in Episode 413 - 28 January 1987. Sam was played by Scott Wealands (19 episodes) and Thomas Hamston (15 episodes).

Biography[]

Sam Cole was born in 1986 (offscreen) in Coffs Harbour to Susan Cole and Fred Mitchell. Susan fell pregnant with Sam whilst having an affair with Fred, but Susan didn't know that both he and Madge Bishop were still together and married at the time. When Susan and Sam both arrived in Erinsborough, Charlene Robinson offered to look after Sam for her and pretended Sam was her baby, a secret that she kept both from Madge and Scott Robinson as she didn't want Madge to know that Fred had fathered a baby behind her back when they were still married. When Madge found out the truth about Sam, she was resentful towards Susan, but after she took a tumble, offered to look after her during her recovery and eventually warmed to Sam. After Susan felt well again, Clive Gibbons took both her and Sam to look after them at Number 22 with Clive really warming to the boy, treating him as his own son.
