Rani Kapoor (played by Coco Cherian.) was a character in Neighbours from 2012 to 2013. She was the daughter of Ajay Kapoor and Priya Kapoor (the school principle) and is close friends with Callum and Sophie. When the new Turner family moves onto the streets, she becomes involved in a dramatic love triangle with Callum and Bailey.

Rani is introduced as the daughter of Erinsborough High School Principle Priya Kapoor and thus, people are worried to befriend her as they fear she'll snitch on them. However, she becomes close friends with Sophie, but Sophie gets jealous when Rani and Callum start to befriend each other after a school project, and she fears she'll be left out.
Sophie hatches a plan to make them fall out, and manipulates them. Rani and Callum figure it out and pretend to be a real couple to annoy Sophie, but it backfires when Callum starts to develop real feelings for her. Rani gets a job at Sonya's nursery and Callum falls for her even more, but it isn't reciprocated. She makes friends with Sophie and the three of them start to hang out again.
Rani is then swept up by local bad boy Harley Canning, who is new in town and sets his sights on her. They become a fully fledged couple, which incites jealousy from Callum and a love triangle is formed. Rani feels like Harley wouldn't like her family's Indian culture and so hides how religious she is, which is difficult when it's time for Diwali celebrations.
Things escalate when Rani catches her mother, Priya in a compromising situation with Paul Robinson and she feels that they're having an affair. Rani continues to become confused until she finally figures out the truth due to her mother's earrings being found by Sophie at Lassiters Hotel. She takes off with Harley after the school dance in rebellion against her mother, but is stopped by Ajay, where Rani reveals the truth to him. Priya manipulates both Rani and Ajay to make her feel like it's all in her head, but feeling guilty, Priya confesses to it all which puts a strain on their family.
Rani continues her bad behaviour and refuses to speak to her mother. She even lashes out at Paul and spray-paints an abusive message at Lassiters Hotel, but she is eventually found out by the police.
Sometime later, with a strained relationship with her mother she attends Sonya and Toadie's weddings. Rani is furious over the dress her mother chose for her and storms out, yelling "I hate you" to Priya. At the reception, Priya is caught in a freak gas explosion while Rani is back at home unaware.
Ajay finds Rani and tell her that Priya is comatose. When she is declared braindead, the family stays by her side as they pull the plug. Rani struggles emotionally after Priya's death and is wracked by guilt, which is when she starts seeing her mother frequently in hallucinations. While sorting through Priya's things, Rani discovers a play she wrote back when she was in university and decides to adapt it at Erinsborough High to honor her.
She gives the lead roles to Callum and Bailey. During a private rehearsing session, she has an intimate moment with Bailey and the two share a kiss. Both of them decide to keep it a secret due to her relationship with Callum but Rani tells him due to the guilty. He lashes out and fights with Bailey before trying to destroy the set of the play. Rani rewrites a part in the script which gives a heartfelt apology to Callum and they reconcile.
They start their relationship fresh but Callum starts to become very controlling and forces Rani to stop being friends with Bailey. She is reluctant and Callum is enraged when she keeps seeing him, even starting a fight with him that results in Bailey almost drowning. Callum and Rani split and tries to start a relationship with Bailey but he reject it because he wants to mend things with Callum. Toadie convinces Callum to let Rani go and be happy and so he gives his permission for them to date.
Ajay confronts Bailey when he sees that Rani wants to go on birth control (which is for period pains) and she argues with him, saying that he refuses to let her grow up. Ajay wants to take a holiday to India with the money from winning the lawsuit for Priya's death. Their plan is accelerated when Ajay's grandmother is terminally ill and he leaves early to see her but wants Rani to stay with Susan. She refuses and he takes her along, Callum and Bailey say their goodbyes, with the latter telling Rani he loves her.
A few months later, Rani returns with news that Ajay received a job offer in London and so they are moving there. She has returned to pack up their things. Bailey doesn't take the news well and tries to orchestrate a scholarship in London to be with her. Rani is take aback and wants to start her new chapter fresh, without him but doesn't know how to say it. As she is saying goodbye, she breaks it off with Bailey for good and tells him she met someone else in India but nothing happened, it only made her realise she doesn't want to be tied down. Bailey says goodbye and walks away, tearful.
