Priya Kapoor was a character in Neighbours from Episode 6239 - 1 Sep 2011 to Episode 6661 - 10 Jun 2013. She was the wife of Ajay Kapoor and mother of Rani Kapoor. Priya was played by Menik Gooneratne.

Priya Gupta was born in 1977. She attended school and won a competition in August 1992 aged 15. She later worked as a teacher

Affair with Paul[]
Paul starts to feel attracted to Priya, and tries every attempt he can to seduce her. Each one is unsuccessful, until she eventually gives in and succumbs to her desires. The two share a kiss but Priya immediately feels guilty.
Paul continues to push for them to have an affair and after realising how unhappy she is in her marriage to Ajay, agrees. They meet often at both Erinsborough High and at Lassiter's and enjoy the danger of sneaking around. However, the secrecy of the affair threatens Priya's marriage and the lies begin to pile up until she decides to end their tryst and focus on committing to their marriage. Paul doesn't take the news well and wants to take things to a deeper level with her but she rejects him.
Secrets are revealed when Rani catches Paul and Priya in a goodbye embrace and she soon pieces things together to uncover the affair. Rani tells Ajay and Priya confesses to all of it. They are on the road to divorce, with Priya made into a pariah for both her husband and daughter. After a tumultuous time, Ajay decides to forgive Priya and they work towards fixing their relationship and saving their marriage.
Death[]
Priya attends the wedding of Sonya and Toadie, while she gets into an argument with Rani over the dress she bought for her. Rani storms out and leaves the event. A short while later, Priya is in the marquee getting food when she decides to text Rani to reconcile. However, a gas explosion engulfs the whole tent and Priya is trapped injured in the rubble.
Ajay awakes from the aftermath and rushes to her aid alongside Karl, who takes her to Erinsborough Hospital for treatment. Karl later tells Ajay and Rani that Priya has suffered irreversible internal injuries and that she will never wake up from her coma. The Kapoor family say their goodbyes before the shutting down of her life-support machine.
