Peter O'Brien is an actor who played Shane Ramsay for 2 years from Episode 1 - 18 March 1985 to Episode 437 - 3 March 1987, and again for a brief return in 2022 and 2024. He has gone to to do many other acting roles since leaving Neighbours.

Peter O'Brien won the role of Shane Ramsay in late 1984 and filming began in January 1985. His character was a few years younger than himself. Shane was 20 in 1985. Peter played Shane for 2 years. In late 1986, Peter decided to leave Neighbours after 2 years. His last episode as Shane Ramsay was aired on Australian TV screen in March 1987.

Peter had many TV roles after leaving Neighbours, in the UK and well as Australia.
He had roles in Blue Heelers and All Saints.
When the axing of Neighbours was announced in early 2022, Peter agreed to reprise his role as Shane after 35 years in July 2022.
