Hudson Walsh

Hudson Walsh (played by Remy Hii) is a swimming prodigy who trained alongside Josh Willis on his road to the Olympics. He later becomes Chris' boyfriend.

2013[]

Hudson goes on a date with Chris and tells him about his training partner Josh who is being sabotaged by his coach to help Hudson succeed. Chris takes this information to Brad after being concerned about what coach Don is doing to Josh. Josh figures out what Don is up to and confronts him about it. Josh then talks to Hudson about the sabotage plot but he says he must have misheard from Chris and that Don is a great guy.

Chris goes to see Hudson but is given the cold shoulder. Hudson is angry that Chris implicated him with his coach, who has been like a father to him and as he is talking, gets shooting pains in his chest. Chris tries to help but Hudson pushes him away and walks out. He encounters Chris again later in The Waterhole and they try to move past their argument. He goes to Chris' house and they enjoy a beer together but Hudson experiences severe chest pains again and Chris calls the paramedic. The paramedic suggests it's drug related and Hudson tells Chris that he's only just started taking steroids to enhance his performance. Chris gives Hudson an ultimatum, that he can't pursue a relationship with him unless he stops the drug use and his partnership with Don.

Hudson manages to mutually end his contract with Don and goes to see Chris. They have an argument when Hudson says he is quitting swimming for good. Hudson comes back to apologise and tells Chris he's leaving town for a while.

He returns, hoping to get back into professional swimming and to reconnect with Chris again. At first he is hesitant but they agree and start dating. Meanwhile, Brad is asked by Chris to be Hudson's new coach, which causes friction between him and Josh. Hudson's start as Josh training partner is rocky and he almost fires Brad in order to preserve their father-son relationship. However, Josh apologise to Hudson when he realises the true direction of his angry.

When Mason is being blackmailed by Robbo over a sex tape of Amber, Hudson offers to lend him $8,000 to pay off the debt. When Robbo is killed in a hit and run, Hudson is seen in the location on a CCTV camera and is questioned by the police. He tells them he met with Don and kept it a secret so Brad wouldn't find out.

Hudson has been losing interest in swimming and starts skipping practices and drinking with Chris, but hasn't told Brad. He eventually tells Brad, that he just wants to live a normal life with a normal job and be with Chris. He decides to go break the news to his family back in Sydney and asks Chris to come with him.

As the detectives close in on their investigation into Robbo's death, they discover Hudson was more involved than they initially thought and arrested him. He gave a full confession; he was walking home alone when he saw Amber confronting Robbo, she then left Imogen's car after it struggled to start and walked home. He jumped into the car to try and move it but was taunted by Robbo. He snapped and ran him over, leaving him for dead.

Chris is brought into the room after his confession and he apologises to him. Hudson asks Chris to bring him a fresh change of clothes but it's just a distraction and while he's gone he refuses to accept visitors or speak to Chris in order to protect him further and Chris is left heartbroken.

Eventually, Hudson gives in and the two begin a relationship despite him being being bars. Although the distance comes between them after a few months and Hudson becomes concerned Chris is seeing someone else, and even asks Georgia. In their final meeting, the two decide to end their relationship and part ways and embrace in a hug for one last time.
