Izzy rang Karl to say that Holly was on a plane to No 28 as she was heading off on a cruise with her new boyfriend and needed him to look after her while she was away. Holly arrived and seemed like a sweet and innocent little girl, especially to her father. However, when she was alone with stepmother Susan, she insulted her and rebelled against her, which then caused friction between the Kennedys. Karl realised she was angry because her mother had gone away and thought that he and Susan would be able to give Holly a more stable home life. He asked Izzy if she could live with them permanently, and she did not hesitate to say yes. He broke the news to Holly who was sad that her mother had abandoned her but relieved that the Kennedys were taking her in.

Holly moved in with Karl and Susan and was hired by Lassiters Hotel. She quickly made herself at home and was a regular party girl with a bad attitude, much to the annoyance of Susan. At some point, they had a moment when Susan confessed to a spending addiction and hoarding expensive jewellery, which was later revealed when Holly got into an argument with Karl. At the same time, Holly was fired by Reece Sinclair, the daughter of Lassiters' investor Conrad Sinclair, after several encounters where she was rude to her. Holly had a change of heart, and after reconciling with Susan and deciding to be a better person, she grovelled to Reece to get her job back, but to no avail. However, Reece (unbeknownst to Holly) allowed her back at Lassiters due to her being friends with Byron Stone.
When Holly had finally got over her toxic ex-boyfriend Eden Shaw and deleted (most) of their photos together, she thought she had seen him at the Yorokobi Vineyard. Holly showed Mackenzie Hargreaves a photo of Eden and asked her if it was Ed, her new friend, and she confirmed it was. Eden had been trying to get close to Holly and had even stolen her friends' wallets and Mackenzie's bag.
