- Final appearance of Helen Daniels. Actress Anne Haddy left the show due to ill health and died 2 years after leaving the show in June 1999.
- For the next 7 years after this episode, there were no original characters left in the show. Paul Robinson, who had last appeared in 1993, returned in Episode 4630 - 10 Dec 2004.
- After the departure of Lucy Robinson in Episode 2423 - 5 July 1995, Helen had remained the last original character left in the show.
- This episode featured Helen watching a camcorder recording of the wedding of her grandson Scott to Charlene, which was in reality clips from Episode 523 - 1 July 1987.
- No cast or crew members were credited at the end due to a special photo montage compilation of Helen Daniels' time on the show. This was played over the piano version of the theme tune.
- UK screenings showed the full length end tribute credits, an exception to the time limit policy introduced by the BBC in 1994. In order for the episode not to over run its time slot, a scene with Lance Wilkinson & Amy Greenwood by their school lockers was cut from the episode.
