Synopsis[]
Harold Bishop and Madge Bishop go for a weekend by the coast. They park up and go for a stroll along the beach. Madge stops to talk to a local artist. Harold walks to a part of the rocks right next to the sea. He waves to Madge and Madge carries on talking to the artist. She turns round to see Harold a few seconds after he waves to her and sees that he is not there. He was there just a few seconds ago. Madge and the artist walk over to the rocks and call for Harold. She finds his glasses on the rocks. She cries for him to answer her. It appears that he has been washed out to sea.

- Last appearance of Harold Bishop until Episode 2733 - 30 October 1996. For the next five years it was assumed that Harold had died but it was never confirmed, as his body was never found. This gave the show the opportunity to bring Harold back at a later date, a storyline somewhat similar to Den Watts' return from the dead in British soap EastEnders.
