Cathy Alessi was a character in Neighbours from Episode 1732 - 28 July 1992 to Episode 1973 - 4 August 1993. She was the wife of Benito Alessi and mother to Marco Alessi and Rick Alessi plus Lindsey Steiner. Cathy was played by Elspeth Ballantyne.

Cathy (unknown maiden name) was born in about 1945 in Australia to Irish parents. She met childhood sweetheart Benito Alessi when they were children and they slept together when they were 16. At 17, Cathy gave birth to a daughter Lindsay but her strict Catholic parents forced her to give the baby up. Benito and Cathy later married and had a son Marco Alessi in about 1971 and Rick Alessi in 1976.
