Basil was the pet dog of Lucy Robinson that she bought from an animal shelter in 1985 and lasted on the show until 1987 when she drowned at sea after she went missing from a beach trip with Mike Young, Scott Robinson and Charlene Robinson. She was later replaced with Bouncer.
