Audrey Hamilton

Audrey Hamilton (played by Zahra Newman) is an old friend and colleague of Nicolette's, who share a dark secret.

History[]

A nurse and friend of Nicolette Stone, who comes to Erinsborough to tell Nicolette that she feels so guilty about taking a winning lottery ticket from a deceased patient, that she wants them to give the money to the patient's family. Nicolette refuses, having spent her half and believing that the patient's uncaring family does not deserve it. Pierce Greyson notices their exchange and thinks Nicolette is bullying Audrey. He offers her his help should she need it. Nicolette agrees to pay the money back and gets Audrey some shifts at Erinsborough Hospital. Audrey arranges for herself and Nicolette to volunteer at the Sonya Rebecchi Foundation, but Nicolette is reluctant to go along. Audrey bonds with Toadfish Rebecchi and soon learns that he is in need of a manager to help with fundraising programmes, so she offers to help part-time with admin. Audrey later donates $50,000 to the foundation, angering Nicolette, who thinks their secret will be discovered. Audrey is offered a permanent nursing position at the hospital and she suggests to Toadie that they arrange some events for Movember after Karl Kennedy grows a moustache. She attends a dinner with Karl and Toadie, who both fall ill, leaving her to take care of them. Karl later works out that Audrey made the anonymous donation from her email address. She tells him the money came from a nurses lottery syndicate and asks him to keep it from Toadie. Nicolette learns about Audrey's lie and confronts her, asking her to go home. Audrey and Toadie go on a date and admit that they like one another. Karl later tells Toadie that Audrey donated the $50,000. Audrey attends the Kennedy's Christmas party, where she tries hard to impress them. Nicolette later apologises for attempting to split Audrey and Toadie up, by telling the Kennedys that she gets obsessive with boyfriends. When Toadie talks about Audrey's selflessness, she tells him that she and Nicolette stole the money. Audrey is fired from the hospital and Toadie breaks up with her, so she returns to Canberra. Months later, Audrey is approached by Paul Robinson, who is looking for Nicolette, as she has run away while carrying his son, David Tanaka's baby. Audrey initially denies seeing Nicolette, but Paul shows her a security camera image of her and Nicolette together. Audrey tells him that they ran into each other and Nicolette said she had been betrayed and had to leave home. Audrey then shows Paul a possible place that Nicolette may be. Paul thanks her and Audrey says that Nicolette is a good person. Paul replies that she has run away with his granddaughter and he will not stop hunting until she is found.
